Working Woman

I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted! You wouldn't believe my life these past few weeks. I left my last job (which I loved!) for an amazing opportunity with Microsoft (which I also love!) Since then, I've traveled to Minneapolis and back for training, and at the end of this week, I'll have worked 13 days straight. I'm so thankful for this opportunity, and I hope you can bear with me while I figure out a routine that works.

Needless to say, I am in major need of some me-time and a glass of wine! And I can't wait until I can blog more often. I'm also looking forward to some much-needed vacation time in the next few weeks. Whew! That felt good to get off my chest :)

On a totally unrelated side note...have you ever seen The Big Easy?  I just got a chance to take in all of Dennis Quaid's yumminess in this 1987 flick.  It's also set in my favorite city; you should definitely watch it when you get a chance!

For now...I'm going to relax with a glass of zin, and my copy of Bridesmaids that just arrived. Best believe it's going to be a magical night!

A Family BBQ

And what exactly did my Monday entail? You guessed it...more babies! I'm just reaching that point in my life where all of my nearest & dearest are getting married and having beautiful babies. How lucky am I?

This cutie patootie is Markian, my boyfriend's baby bro. Before, when I would hear people say that a baby was so cute that they could eat him up, I was confused at their cannibalistic-sounding term of endearment.  Now, I completely understand...I am in LOVE with Markian and find myself kissing his hands and feet for no reason at all!

**Side note...just in case my weekend wasn't baby-oriented enough for you, we spent a lovely quiet evening Saturday catching up on a Harry Potter marathon with our dear friends, who are one month away from having a little one of their own!

Watching airplanes :)

After Roehl barbecued some delicious burgers, we took our bikes out and cruised around a nearby lake.  It was so perfect getting to relax and spend time together before we head back to work tomorrow. I'll definitely be counting down the days until next weekend!

Sunday With The Sackmans

How was your holiday weekend? At the risk of sounding old, time is really flying by; I can't believe it's already September! I'm excited to share my beautiful weekend with you, starting with Sunday catching up with some of my favorite people, including my baby godson Dominick :)

We spent our Sunday afternoon at a local park, just lounging around.  After, we got some coffee and I finally got my hands on the Little Debbie's Oatmeal Creme Pies I've been looking for all month! We went back to the Sackman residence and barbecued by the pool; the perfect ending to a wonderful summer.

Isn't little Dom too presh for words? I can't get enough of him! What a beautiful family, I might add.

I hope you all got a chance to round out your summer in an exciting yet relaxing manner.  Btw, I don't care what the fashion "rules" dictate...I intend to wear white all fall/winter! =P

A Walk in the Park

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending my second SF Giants game of the season, courtesy of my company & some amazing colleagues. (I'm taking my dad to another game on Friday, too!)

Since I haven't been too diligent about taking pictures lately, I made it a point to snap away as soon as we stepped off the train. We stopped at the American Grilled Cheese Kitchen, which was phenomenal. I never knew a grilled cheese could be so artisan and gourmet.  We chatted, dined, and even made a couple new friends. :)

At the game, the energy was amazing. But after a few innings, it was pretty obvious we weren't going to win, so I got to snapping away again. Giants games are always a blast, especially since we won the series last year; the energy is infectious!  By the time we took the train back into town, I was beat.  Good thing I had the day off today to sleep in and all that jazz...

Are you all ready for September? I can't believe it's already here, but I'm excited because it heralds the arrival of my absolute favorite season in the world!

Highly Anticipated Travels

While I consider myself fortunate to have gone on a considerable amount of mini-vacations throughout the year, I can barely contain my excitement for my "real" vacations coming up in the near future. First on the agenda is my annual pilgrimage to the city of sin, to visit my bestest best friend.  It's a little over a month away, and I'm literally counting down the days...

Next up is a weeklong jaunt to the Lone Star state.  My boyfriend and I are going to Austin in November to experience all that 6th Street  this amazing city has to offer! I'll get a chance to visit some family, and also find out if we'd like to possibly relocate to this fair land. :)

Last but not least, I just surprised my honey with a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean for our 5 year anniversary in January!  Our ships leaves from Miami, and stops in Half Moon Cay, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, & Grand Turk. He was pleasantly surprised, to say the least. We've never been on a cruise, so any tips and advice are welcome!

Do you have any exciting trips coming up? Any tips for the places I'll be traveling to? I'd love to hear :)

Summer Reading List

I sincerely apologize for the lengthy absence...sometimes my brain requires a little vacation, if you will. I return with vigor, and a great deal of excitement/inspiration for upcoming posts! I am currently inspired by some recent thrifty finds at my local book store. You all know my affection for coffee table books, and these lovelies, (in the bargain bin, at that!) could not be ignored.

Detailing the extensive career of one of America's most noted mid-century artists, this book about Alberto Vargas showcases some of his most famous works of art. Breathtaking in every realistic detail, every drawing has a life of its own.

My absolute favorite period of modern art is illustrated in every striking page of this book.   Stunning, to say the least.

Ummm....and did I mention? The Bible has arrived in the form of Vogue's September issue, & I can't wait to leaf through all 758 pages!

What have you been reading lately? I hope it's something that stirs your soul; that you can't take your hands off of!

My Weekend, Via Instagram

Some down-home fun @ the Jason Aldean concert

Yummy ice cream on a lovely Sunday

Side Up Bike Expo...which really made me want to pimp out my cruiser even more...plus get more tattoos =/

Lovely architecture at a local historical park

This past Friday, I ventured off to Santa Cruz for some solo soul (and retail) therapy on the beach.  It felt like I had a 2 hour massage, which was very necessary after a hectic week, which included dealing with obnoxious country boppers & sitting in traffic for 1.5 hours (only to drive 4 miles) to see the amazing Jason Aldean in concert.

On Saturday, my boyfriend and I did a little jewelry shopping :) and went to a hole-in-the-wall (did I mention awesome?) Korean lounge for his coworker's farewell party.

Sunday we spent time with his family and went to a ridiculously rad local bike expo, followed by some of the best BBQ in the world.  I started running/exercising hardcore a couple weeks ago, so I'm always hungry!

I hope you all had a lovely summer weekend :)
